Wilson
Bros. VCM-2002
Here is the top of the line Wilson Bros.
guitar. I had to convince Tim Wilson to sell it to me at the 2004 NAMM
show in Anaheim, CA. It was one of two prototypes that Tim and Don
Wilson and company carried with them to show at NAMM and wanted to show
at other places. But capital was in short supply so sold it to me they
did. It's an excellent guitar in all respects, playability, sound,
construction and appearence. Not to pick any fights, but I think they
made some necessary improvements to the Ventures model Mosrite of the
'60's. The corrections are these: Frets that have some meat to them, a
cutaway cut in the right direction (note that the Mosrite Ventures
Model cutaway is backwards if one wants to reach the high frets), and a
wider more playable neck. The pick-ups are not exactly the old Mosrite
sound, but they do sound great. .
